The Severn Mega Committee are looking forward to welcoming you during Mega week. Thank you for signing up for Camping, please find below Camping information and our Terms and Conditions.

Camping Information

Emergency contact details: The Committee Office should be staffed throughout the day, see the waypoint on the Mega event page. If you need to contact a committee member for any reason and you cannot get to the office, a contact number will be provided in your camping welcome pack and sent to you prior to your arrival with all the relevant arrivals information.

Catering: We have booked a local caterer for the Mega week. They will be able to provide breakfast and evening meals, including hot drinks throughout the week and will be open all day on Mega day. There will be a selection of the usual fast food with a different ‘special’ each day with vegetarian and vegan options also available. Campers will be able to order a day in advance. The bar will be open every evening and all day on Saturday.

Water: Clean drinking water can be obtained from the taps which are situated around the numerous camp site fields, these will be added as waypoints to the Mega event listing and sign posted so that you can navigate to your closet tap.

Shops: The site manager has a shop, see point 2 on the map, and is happy to bring in any necessary supplies. It is recommended that you speak with the site manager, his office is at the back of the shop, to discuss your requirements to see if he can cater for them. There is also a 24-hour garage with a shop attached, which can be accessed via the public footpath offsite, should there be anything the site manager is unable to cater for you.

Activities:
There are several activities available to you onsite during the Mega week, these are bookable directly through the site manager. A list of the activities can be found here: https://woodhousepark.org.uk/activity-availability/

Camping: For those who do not require Electric Hook Up (EHU) you will be staying in the Severn Field (see our attached map below), this is a large field that looks over the River Severn. The camping spaces will not be marked out and so you will have the choice of the field for where you and your friends pitch your camps.

Camping Terms and Conditions

By purchasing camping with us, you are agreeing to the following camping terms and conditions during your stay.

Campers with Electric Hook Up (EHU) are grouped together, the fields will be solely designated as EHU fields. Therefore, you will not be able to be located with non-EHU bookings.

*** Use of electric is limited to the individuals accounted for in the pitch booking. ***

Car parking: You may leave your vehicle on your pitch if you wish or leave it in one of the camping car parks (see map points 1, 12 and 14). Only one vehicle should be left on a pitch at any time, other than for loading and unloading on arrival and departure.

We don’t believe that the site will be adversely affected if we have wet weather. The fields and tracks have hardcore as their foundations. However, we will continue to monitor the situation during the Mega week, please make sure you respond as appropriate to instructions by the Mega Committee and their Volunteers.

Access: You can access the site from 1500hrs on Monday 28th July 2025.

New campers joining the will be able to arrive between 0900hrs and 2000hrs on any given day, except for Monday where you can arrive between 1500hrs and 2000hrs. If you find that you are affected by unforeseen circumstances which may see you arrive outside of these times, then you are requested to contact the committee with the number provided in your camping welcome pack.

You can leave the site at any time, but if driving you are asked to be considerate of other campers. The main exit and entrance gates are always open to ensure that the emergency services can gain access to the site. There are CCTV cameras at both access points. You will be required to display a provided tag on your rear-view mirror so that you can be easily identified as an attendee of our Mega Week. There will be a one-way system in operation during the Mega day on the 2nd August and this may also be in effect during the week, you are required to follow and adhere to any signage on site.

There is a public footpath that runs through the site which you can also use, this will bring you out to a bus stop for any onward travel.

Generators and Electric: Our power is run on batteries which are trickle charged, this ensures a continuous supply of quiet power. You can only purchase this online in advance of your stay and it will not be on sale once Mega week has started or when we have sold out of EHU slots. You are required to provide your own electrical cable, and it must conform to British Standards.

To ensure that we do have a continuous supply, electric cars must not be charged from EHU points, and splitters must not be used. To save you using a kettle, we will have tea and coffee available to purchase in the Training Centre’s Kitchen (number 3 on the map).  You are not permitted to bring high-use domestic items such as air fryers!

Toilets and Showers: We have plumbed in toilet and shower blocks on site, including disabled facilities, as displayed on our map below. We will be ensuring that these are kept tidy, but you are required to leave the facilities in a satisfactory condition.

Waste disposal: An Elsan disposal point for toilet cassette waste will be made available. (A waypoint will be added to the Mega event listing and sign posted).   Use of drains onsite or any of the toilet blocks is prohibited. Please do not arrive with a full toilet cassette.  You are not permitted to use the Elsan point to dispose of grey water, further details on where to dispose this will be in your camping welcome pack.

Recycling: We will have facilities for rubbish disposal, which will be signposted. You are not permitted to use these facilities for disposing of large items e.g. broken chairs, and please take home as much rubbish as you can. We will provide refuse bags on arrival, and you can ask for extras if required.

Information about dogs: You can of course bring along your geohounds, they must always be always kept on a lead and their waste collected and disposed of in the appropriate bins. They are very welcome to join you at all events on site.

Smoking and Vaping: All buildings and the Marquees are no smoking and vaping areas. Please only use the designated smoking/vaping areas onsite, these will be confirmed in your camping welcome pack and as waypoints on the Mega event page.

Substance Misuse: We operate a zero-tolerance policy on substance misuse on site. Anyone found to be misusing substances will be reported and will be removed from site.

Open Fires: You MUST NOT have open fires on your pitch, BBQ’s are allowed as long as they are suitably raised off the ground and do not leave burnt patches. You must ensure that you have a means of extinguishing a fire and that the fire has been completely extinguished prior to you leaving your camping area. Please dispose of cold ash in the correct area. You are not permitted to place hot ash in the bins and do not dispose of ash in the bushes or hedges.

Damage: Any damage to buildings, camping areas or missing inventory equipment will see the costs to repair and replace the items charged to the person who made the booking. You are to report to a member of the Committee if you see anyone causing damage.

Noise: Please observe the noise curfew between 2200hrs and 0730hrs.

Checkout: All tents and vehicles are to be off site by 1400hrs on Sunday 3rd August.

This site is regularly used for Scout camping and is not normally open to the public for use. Therefore, we have a duty to ensure that the site is returned in good condition, free of litter and dog poo.
