Meet the Committee

Josh (oakey1)

Chair

Geocaching since 2010, Josh started Geocaching by memorising maps and finding the containers based on land features. More of a social cacher than a hard-core finder, friends are the biggest take away from this hobby and Josh and Marnee setup the monthly Rural Rendezvous events in Gloucestershire, running now for years. Josh is an aviation nut and when not finding geocaches or hanging off of cliffs rock climbing, he can be seen either in the skies or on the ground doing something aviation related!

Marnee (Mutchie)

Treasurer

Marnee started Geocaching in 2011, after being a letterboxer on Dartmoor for 9 years, to keep active, meet new friends and have fun adventures abroad and in the UK. Marnee really enjoys solving puzzle caches. Marnee and Josh started the Rural Rendezvous event in Gloucestershire, which is now in it’s sixth year. Marnee has also put out a drive by series of over 100 caches. Outside of Geocaching Marnee works in a local school running the exams on a daily basis. She is also a qualified athletics coach with the junior section of Stroud and District Athletic Club.

Carol (Perrycroft1)

Secretary

Carol started caching in 2015 when it was suggested she set free a Geocoin in New Zealand as a birthday present, with the aim of it getting back to Gloucestershire (it did, eventually!). She is a fairweather cacher with a soft spot for trackables & Earthcaches.
Carol has always had an interest in flora & fauna and is a member of several gardening groups. When not caching Carol can be found pottering in the garden or curled up in front of the fire reading.

Kim (Leonards193)

Merchandise Officer

Kim, part of Leonards193, has been Geocaching since February 2009 with her family and enjoying adventuring around the world through the hobby. Kim has been involved in the GAGB as elected committee for four years and has been involved in the local geocaching community as an admin of Geocaching Gloucestershire Facebook group. She very much enjoys hiding caches and hosting events, meeting up with other people and her best part of the hobby is the friends she has made so far. Kim has hosted a few events abroad, as well as being involved with Geocoinfest Manchester.

Craig (Cabbage187)

Operations & Delivery Officer

Craig started Geocaching in 2012, this was on a separate account. Started his new account in 2020 and managed a Geocaching streak of 749 days until going into the hospital stopped him. Craig was also a member of the GAGB for 2 years. Craig also volunteers for a local environmental group.

Caroline and Clive (Seasand)

Venue Officer & Accommodation and Facilities Officer

Clive and Caroline have been Geocaching as ‘Seasand’ since 2006 – in the days when you had to walk a few miles to find 1 cache! They often base their holiday plans around caching and enjoy caching with friends preferably where they can camp a walking distance away from a good trail. They have attended 8 UK Megas and found caches in Australia & New Zealand, and one in Singapore on the way! Clive is very involved in Scouting, currently, he is the interim County Commissioner and County Training Manager and Caroline provides admin support! They organise CITO events a couple of times a year to coincide with the local Litter Busters.

Monica (Monski)

Planning Officer

Monica began Geocaching in June 2010. She has set herself many challenges and was excited to recently complete her 366 and D/T grids. Monica currently works on completing the Little Quest Series and attending the UK Mega’s most certainly helps with that! She is obsessed with CITOs, both attending and hosting. If you ever look around Gloucester you can’t help but trip over them. In fact, on the 22nd December 2023, Monica became the the global number 1 CITO host within the global Geocaching community. A nice early Christmas present for her!

Lilly (lillylulabell)

Media and Advertising Officer

Lilly started Geocaching in July 2020 after having learned about it from Blue Peter. Lilly used Geocaching as “walking fuel” to inspire her to explore the local area, free her mind from anxiety and build fitness. 1000+ caches later and she now spends most weekends enjoying her hobbies of running, cycling and geocaching in ever increasing circles as she has found all the caches near home! Lilly loves to find large caches stuffed with trackables and unique and funny containers.

Laura (L_Saurus)

Graphics Officer

Laura started Geocaching in 2015 when she discovered the hobby from a Youtuber, she started in Lancaster and got her mum into it, they used to go exploring a lot every time they met up. Her favourite form of Geocaching is when it’s a looped series, least favourite is urban caches. Laura has cached in many countries and even found caches on Kayaks. Laura really enjoys the social aspect of caching by attending events, she has made friends in Bristol this way. Laura also enjoys crafting and making her own swag. Laura is a graphics expert and using her skills has even made a presentation for work on Geocaching!
